SITUATION

Sometimes organizations fall into the pattern of using communications channels because they think they have to but not considering who they are communicating with or why. At the United Way of Thurston County, there was an assumption of an ongoing need for pushing out information which had resulted in little engagement or financial support.


SOLUTION

Through developing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy, deep audience research, and creating a messaging framework, I was able to craft and implement a plan using their current channels which were targeted and aligned.


RESULTS

My work with United Way of Thurston County saw an increase in website visitors of 300% over nine months due in large part to the social media and email strategy which I developed and deployed.
